City Manager Interview: Milwaukee

In every Frontdesk destination, there is a Frontdesk City Manager. The City Manager is responsible for all operations happening in that city, including on-site staff and providing top customer service to guests. The people who carry-out these roles are locals to the area, and love their city!

Meet Jason! He is our Milwaukee, Wisconsin City Manager. He has traveled all over the states, but has found himself back in the city that he loves. He sat down with us to tell us a little more about Frontdesk, what he enjoys about Milwaukee, and what he thinks you’ll enjoy during your visit too!

Q1. Tell me about your role at Frontdesk and what you like most about working with us.

As a City Manager my main duty is to ensure that all guest suites are fully presentable and properly stocked for all guests upon arrival. We want to make sure they have everything they need to ensure their visit goes as smoothly as possible. If we never hear from the guest then that means everything was done correctly and there were no issues with their visit.

I work with a group of really hard workers, that also like to have fun. The “get er’ done” idea is there, but it’s also a team that I joke around with. That has to be the best part of working with Frontdesk.

Q2. What do you like most about living in Milwaukee?

The diverse culture and cuisine on hand without having to break the bank! There are tons of great restaurants to explore and experience without having to mortgage your home to make a reservation!

Q3. What can a visitor expect when staying at in a short-term Frontdesk rental suite?

Our short-term rentals have all the accommodations from your home; from having a washer and dryer handy, to a well stocked kitchen if you get the itch to stay in and cook for an evening. We also provide Netflix for those who may be in town for work and just need some downtime on the couch after a long day, plus we provide a handy guide book to our city with a list of our favorite haunts and activities.

Q4. What is your favorite restaurant in Milwaukee and what is your favorite meal to get there?

Hotel Madrid by far is my absolute favorite place to dine in MKE. From the stylish decor to the impeccable service and attention to detail, Hotel Madrid provides a superb dining experience without the pompous attitude. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating, be it enjoying a meal by yourself at the bar to entertaining friends in the dining area, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Hotel Madrid. As for favorite meal, you really can’t go wrong with the 48oz Tomahawk. From the presentation to the flavors they are able to entice from the cut, you really can’t go wrong.

Q5. What is your favorite bar in Milwaukee and why?

The Journeyman on the rooftop of the Kimpton in the 3rd Ward. By far one of my favorite spots. With the views to the east looking over the water, to the air seating outside with open fireplaces when the weather starts to dip a bit, it really is an experience to just be there and we haven’t even talked about the drinks! The staff are quick on their feet and know exactly what to make you. Everything exudes craftsmanship, from the way the mixologist prepped the ingredients beforehand to how they meticulously build the cocktail and the final presentation itself is nothing short of a labor of love and passion for their craft.

Q6. What is a must-see attraction when visiting Milwaukee?
